I was just thinking about something recently. Is there anything more pathetic than a failed suicide attempt? I'm not sure but it seems pretty high on the pathetic scale.

The way I figure it either the person attempting suicide is either just crying out for help or is so incompetent that they can't even manage to kill themselves. Either of these situations is pretty sad. If you have to try killing yourself to draw attention then damn, do you need to get more observant friends or communicate better. If you just failed to commit suicide then that is even worse. That says you are so worthless that you lack even the skill to put an end to yourself.

I'll bet you are thinking this sounds pretty harsh. Whatever. I have no sympathy for those who are unable to execute. Suicide is the easy way out. My attitude is a person should be forced to just deal with their life and get on with it. All suicide does is cause more problems for everyone around the person who committed suicide. Their family has to go through the guilt and hassle of dealing with their estate. Their friends have to now go on without them and feel the burden of their death. See, suicide is for sucks.

Of course there are exceptions to this. If you are a government agent and are captured, suicide is a perfectly acceptable method of preventing information from being taken from you. If you have been in a serious accident such as having your arms and legs burnt off then there's nothing wrong with killing yourself because your life is probably going to suck anyway. Heck, you'll be saving people from having to take care of you too so you are actually doing a good deed. Another allowable time for killing yourself is if you don't have any family or friends who will be put upon by your death. That means your actions only affect yourself so have at it.
