Jerry Rice has just been traded to the Seahawks. If he has anything, and I mean anything, left in the tank he should be able to rip it up with Seattle. He is the greatest receiver of all time. In fact he is one of the greatest football players of all time period. In my mind only Jim Brown was better.
Anyone who has watched the Seahawks since Steve Largent retired should notice one thing. Seattle receivers drop the ball. Blades and Galloway were supposedly top notch receivers who went to the Pro Bowl. But they both dropped balls. It is one thing if you are Michael Bates, a converted Olympic medal winning track star, and dropping a pass or two. It is another if football has been your primary sport for most of your life.
Lately it has been Koren Robinson and Darrell Jackson as the primary ball dropping receivers. You'd think after 4 or 5 years these guys would have figured out how to catch the ball. I've watched both of them drop balls I could have caught. Having a professional like Rice who drops about 2 balls a year on the team can't help but be a good influence.
