Awhile ago my roommate and I had a really amusing idea. What if we created a specialized random phrase generator? This thought came about after discussing the unprovable fact section in the local newspaper. I won't name it but here's an example of the type of thing you'd see. The african water buffalo grows hair twice as fast as dodo birds laid eggs. Anyway, so our idea was to come up with messed up factoids via a random phrase generator and start a website, Beacon of Ignorance.
After coming up with a list of subjects, actions, and core parts of the sayings I promptly forgot about the whole thing until today when I found a directory named beacon in my notes directory. Looks like it was August 16th when we thought of this. Seems like a lot longer ago. Since there's no way I'll ever get around to writing the code for this or come up with more sayings I'll just list out the various pieces I came up with. It will be a mental exercise for the reader to create their own saying.
Logically, if I had gotten around to doing this it would have been a decisional parse tree based system. Each element would have had attributes would have determined which following elements were allowed. I don't know why I'm bothering to tell you that. Pretty much the point of this is to get the idea out there so I don't feel like I should be working on it. Maybe some open source programmer with far too much time on their hands will read this and decide to implement it.
Don't ask me how I came up with such a long list of subjects. I don't remember writing it. It kind of suprises me that I thought up that many actually.
